Acupuncture is a whole healing system that has been utilized for thousands of years to help bring our bodies into energetic balance and in turn promote healing and optimal functioning. Acupuncture is based on a system of energetic channels that run through the body like rivers, and when the energy or “qi” is flowing smoothly then the body is considered to be in a balanced and healthy state. As a trained and Registered Acupuncturist I will select a specific pattern of points to open these channels, to promote healing and to treat the root causes of what may be creating a variety of symptoms for the patient. That is the beautiful thing about this medicine, we do not focus on just one symptom at a time. Rather we want to look at the whole picture to try and treat what is at the root of causing all of these different symptoms to arise. Additionally treatments can include other modalities that will also support the body’s energetic function including cupping, gua sha or moxibustion.

I approach each person’s story with curiosity, compassion, and a trauma-informed, patient-centered lens. To me, massage therapy is more than hands-on care, it’s a practice that encourages resilience, education, personal agency, and a collaborative connection with the mind, body, and nervous system beyond the treatment room. From a young age I’ve held reverence for the body’s complex wisdom. I’m especially passionate about pain science and neurology, and how patterns, both individual and collective, shapes our experiences in our bodies and health. Patients describe my treatments as deeply attuned, restorative, strong and flowing. I enjoy working with everything from nervous system decompression to orthopedically rehabilitative treatments, to simply facilitating a reconnection with your body in a positive way. My philosophy is never to “fix,” but to listen, tactilely and with presence, to where imbalance may be showing up, and to guide the body’s natural capacity for restoration. Every body is different and comes with its unique history and context! I graduated from the 3000-hour Registered Massage Therapy Program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. My background as a competitive athlete, having studied art history and practicing as a ceramicist, and 20 years of studying yoga and meditation, all inform my perspective on movement, curiosity, attunement, and the body’s innate wisdom. I will always remain dedicated to ongoing learning through continuing education courses or reading current research, to continually grow and refine my practice. In my own time, you can find me going to the weekend farmer’s markets, listening to my vinyl records, playing soccer and practicing yoga, or making ceramics.
