Acupuncture is a whole healing system that has been utilized for thousands of years to help bring our bodies into energetic balance and in turn promote healing and optimal functioning. Acupuncture is based on a system of energetic channels that run through the body like rivers, and when the energy or “qi” is flowing smoothly then the body is considered to be in a balanced and healthy state. As a trained and Registered Acupuncturist I will select a specific pattern of points to open these channels, to promote healing and to treat the root causes of what may be creating a variety of symptoms for the patient. That is the beautiful thing about this medicine, we do not focus on just one symptom at a time. Rather we want to look at the whole picture to try and treat what is at the root of causing all of these different symptoms to arise. Additionally treatments can include other modalities that will also support the body’s energetic function including cupping, gua sha or moxibustion.

During the treatment, the therapist places the hot stones on specific points along your body to promote relaxation and relieve tension. At Humanity Wellness we chose to only use the most effective and safe treatments for our patients. For this very reason, we have selected the SkinPen Precision Device. Unlike many other microneedling devices on the market, SkinPen is a MEDICAL GRADE microneedling device that has been FDA and Health Canada Approved.

Naturopathic medicine is a form of primary health care that combines both conventional and natural medicine. The goal is to always determine the underlying cause of disease so that an individualized treatment plan can be created to meet the specific health needs of each patient. Naturopathic doctors view the body and mind as an interconnected network of systems. All assessments and treatment plans, therefore, focus on treating the whole person rather than just supporting one specific system. Most importantly, naturopathic doctors always strive to educate and empower patients so that they feel in control of their own health and can achieve their personal health goals.

My treatment approach is intentional, educative, and curious. I strive to establish a space where you feel seen and heard, and holistically explore your goals to create a treatment that restores balance. I combine this approach with a variety of tailored manual techniques, breath work, and body awareness to target your goals while intrinsically encouraging a regulation of the nervous system. I believe this facilitates opportunities for one to explore and release areas of their body, heart, and mind. My journey to becoming a massage therapist has been a culmination of my life’s pursuits exploring physical, mental, and spiritual balance through daily rituals and integrity in my roles as an athlete, artist, and yogi. I embody strong values that weave into my presence as a therapist and our treatments. My health journey has taught me compassionate curiosity and the important role of our nervous system, while my life as an athlete has connected me to teamwork, physical limits, and patience with various injuries. Years of practicing yoga and meditation have revealed the power of intention, breath, and prayer, while breathwork has deepened my relationship with my nervous system and expansiveness of my body. Studying art history has shown me the beauty of cultural relationships to the body and its connection to ritual and ceremony, while my ceramics practice has emphasized the importance of play and creativity. Everything in life teaches me the value of communication, integrity, and presence.
